Aims and goals

The club’s aims and goals include

  • Provide a range of kayaking activities

  • Fitness through family sport for parents and children

  • Friendly polo competitions for men, women’s and mixed teams

  • Serious polo competitions for men, women’s and mixed teams on a number of occasions during the year

  • General Skills training (especially white water and polo)

  • General Safety training

  • Provide activities for individuals of primary school age through to retirees

  • Maintain kayaking as an affordable sport for families

  • Age, sex not be a barrier to participation

  • Acquire sufficient numbers of quality craft to support younger players

  • Attract to the kayaking sport as priority group (grades 8-10 young women and potentially their parents)

  • Increase the inventory of club boats and equipment to support young kayakers

  • Increase the status of inter-club competitions held at Springfield Lakes

  • Establish permanent polo goals at Springfield lakes and at other venues

  • Lobby for development of white water infrastructure in the Brisbane region, (Lowood and other sites)

  • Support club house development Increase club membership
