Locations for canoeing
Springfield lakes:
Regatta Lake is the main location for canoe polo activities. Travel to Lakeside Avenue (off Springfield Lakes Boulevard) and you will find polo being held at the end of the dam wall.
Slalom activities may also be held on Spring Lake where there is a permanent set of slalom gates and a polo goal for training.
The Bends Lowood:
Travel west on Ipswich road and take Toowoomba exit. A few kilometres past Blacksoil turn right onto Brisbane Valley Highway and proceed towards Esk. Travel through Fernvale and turn left at the Lowood turnoff. Travel 6.8 km from Fernvale almost to Lowood town; turn right down track at the end of guardrail section of the road. The steep dirt track leading to the water is suitable for 4x4s or 2wds with care. There are no facilities available at the site but there is a good canoe launching site and two sets small rapids. Take care when entering and exiting the site as the road is winding and visibility is limited.
